During these New Moon and Full Moon Horoscopes, there is going to be A LOT of terms thrown at you. Don’t worry–I gotchu! I also want to reiterate that I practice using the Whole Sign house system, however, that does not change what the Houses mean fundamentally so I encourage you to read these horoscopes according to whatever house system relates to you. Alright, now that we got all the boring disclaimer stuff out the way, let’s get lunar.

New Moon in Virgo ♍︎

The Moon will be beginning a new lunar cycle on September 2nd in Virgo ♍︎.

The Moon is about holding on to the past, nurture, safety, security, and our emotions. When it is in the New Moon phase of its Lunar Cycle, it is encouraging us to plant seeds of manifestation of things that will make us feel secure in ourselves, safe in our environments and areas of our lives that could use a fresh start. The New Moon brings about an energy of renewal and is a good time to start making plans, self-reflection and intentions of growth.

Virgo ♍︎ is the mutable Earth sign, an archetype that is notoriously known for it’s need for “perfection” but Virgo ♍︎ is also about growing. Being a Earth sign, Virgo’s need for perfection comes from just wanting everyone around them to be their best selves. However, Virgo ♍︎ is also a mutable sign, meaning it is adaptable and while perfect does not exist, when the New Moon transits through this sign it has the intention the remind us that our best self is not perfect and that’s okay.

Virgo ♍︎ energy is one that takes a a methodical approach to change. To some people this may come off as annoying but Virgo ♍︎ reminds us that the “devil is in the details” and takes pride in worrying about what others may find tedious.

We all have a little Virgo ♍︎ in us, but it hits us all differently. Keep reading to see how this New Moon Virgo ♍︎ energy might be showing up in your chart.

Virgo ♍︎ Rising (Virgo ♍︎ Moons, pay attention too)

I’m starting off with Virgo ♍︎ Risings because you will be some of the hardest hit by this upcoming New Moon energy. (If you have a Virgo ♍︎ Moon, you should also be paying attention to this horoscope and your rising sign horoscope.)

As a Virgo ♍︎ Rising, this New Moon will be transiting through your First House. The First House is the House of Self, it holds the “purest” embodiment of you. Because it is a mutable sign, when Virgo ♍︎ is in the First House it is an indicator that you are naturally adaptable but in a way that does not go against your core beliefs indicated by Virgo ♍︎ being an Earth sign. Virgo ♍︎ being in the First House can also indicate that you may have tendencies to be over-critical of yourself and others.

The New Moon is about new starts, renewal, and refreshment so when it is transiting through the First House it can be an indicator to reflect on our relationship with ourselves. Virgo ♍︎ energy has an air of perfectionism, sometimes disregarding even the things that are 99% to their standards. A lesson that the New Moon can indicate when passing through a Virgo ♍︎ First House is to start embracing all parts of you and not just the “best” parts. Think about what you have been doing to make you feel secure in yourself.

Remember, Virgo ♍︎ is a mutable sign indicating capability of change, even when you don’t think you can. Take this time to use the energy you receive from the New Moon to manifest what you want but also what you need.

Leo ♌︎ Rising

For Leo ♌︎ Risings, this coming New Moon will be transiting through your Second House, the House of Physical Possessions, Moral Values, and Finances. We look at the Second House to see what we need to feel “worthy”. Now, we are all born deserving of unconditional love and there is no true hierarchy of worthiness. When it comes to worthiness it all boils down to how we feel about it. When the New Moon is transiting through this House it can be an indication that now is a good time to look inward and see what you’re doing to fulfill feeling self-worth. This could look like starting your therapy journey, how you engage with your friends, or starting a new job that makes you feel better about yourself.

When this house is ruled by Virgo ♍︎ the mutable energy of this sign can look like tendencies of bending your self to feel like you’re worthy of others. Because of this, when the New Moon transits through here it can be an indicator that now is a good time to focus inward and make sure your definition of your worth isn’t solely based on what others think. If you’re the type of person who likes to listen to music while you process/manifest, I recommend adding Worthy by Megan Thee Stallion to your playlist.

The Second House also rules physical possessions and finances so when the New Moon is transiting through this sign, it can also be an indication that now is a good time to start planning out your long-term goals, especially financial ones. If there’s something you’ve been wanting to start or buy, start saving for it now or at least start generating a plan to reach your financial goals. Be sure you’re making these decisions based on what you need and not just because it looks good.

Cancer ♋︎ Rising

Fellow Cancer ♋︎ Risings, if you’ve felt personally attacked by this recent Mercury Retrograde, it’s because the first half of it was in our Third House of Communications and Short Distance Travel then jumped to our Second House of Physical Possessions (check last horoscope for what this house rules and/or refer to the cheatsheet attached). If you had a lot of confusing interactions regarding the people closest to you, don’t worry there’s still time to work it out.

This New Moon in Virgo ♍︎ is setting you up to resolve these issues but you need to act on that cardinal energy and take initiative in planning out how you need (not want) to take action. The Third House rules communication and with our Third House being ruled by Virgo ♍︎ we are naturally gifted communicators but can get a little annoyed when people do not communicate the same way we do (especially if it seems “inefficient”).

The Third House also rules relationships with siblings, this includes close friends that we regard as such. With that in mind, when the New Moon is transiting through here, especially after a Mercury retrograde, it indicates that it is time to make a plan on how to resolve any issues in those relationships. While you work on this, think about how you want to approach the situation but also remember to listen to what your sibling needs from you to feel safe and secure in the relationship too. This could end up being a great learning experience for both you and your sibling and even make your bond stronger.

If you’re not experiencing sibling drama (lucky you) then this New Moon is indicating that now is a great time to pick up a new skill. Learn a new language, take a class in something you’ve been putting off, make a plan for how you’re going to grow with this new skill. Mercury will be direct in Leo ♌︎, indicating a lot of bold energy. Embrace that feeling.

Gemini ♊︎ Rising

Gemini ♊︎ Risings, this New Moon in Virgo ♍︎ will be passing through your Fourth House of Roots and Origins. The Fourth House rules over the home, both physical and metaphorical. When the New Moon passes through this house it can be an indicator that now would be a good time to start a home project. In your physical space, this can be as extreme as planning out a whole home renovation or as simple as planning out an art project your want to make to hang on your wall.

In your metaphorical space, think more about your mental home. We look to the Fourth House to uncover our foundations, the “lore” of how we came to be because it rules over our relationships with our family, blood and chosen. When this house is ruled by Virgo ♍︎ this can indicate you may have a tendency to have high expectations/standards for how you think your family should show up for you because of how you show up for them. With that in mind, think about how you show up for your family.

Is there a boundary you need to create or even expectation you need to let go of because it’s just not a realistic ask? Remember, Virgo ♍︎ is a very adaptable sign and when it rules the Fourth House, those native are willing to do anything and everything to be the “perfect” family member. But are you showing up as your best self? With the New Moon transiting here, it can be an indicator to start reflecting on these matters. Taurus ♉︎ Rising

This New Moon is going to be passing through the Fifth House of Creativity and Pleasure for Taurus ♉︎ Risings. The Fifth House is all about things that we love and how we express our creativity. When the New Moon transits through this house, it can be an indicator of reflecting on how you’ve been utilizing your creative outlets. If there’s a hobby you put down because you got too busy take some time to see if its possible to fit it back in your routine especially if you’ve been looking for a little pick me up.

The New Moon is also about starting something new and when it transits through the Fifth House, it can be an indicator that now is a great time to learn something new. Specifically related to the arts. We look to the Fifth House for how we approach the arts, from appreciation to participation in it. If there’s a Museum you’ve been meaning to visit, make a plan to check it out. Been thinking about writing a book? Start planning out how you want to make that happen. Whatever your relationship to the arts is, the New Moon transiting through your Fifth House indicates a good time to deepen your relationship with your artsy side. If you don’t have one, this New Moon could be a sign for you to start getting in touch with yours, because I promise we all do.

If you’re a parent or a Taurus ♉︎ Rising that interacts with children regular, this New Moon might also be indicating that you reflect on your relationship with them. This is because the Fifth House also rules our relationships with children in our lives. When Virgo ♍︎ is in the Fifth House, it is an indicator that you may have a tendency to be overly critical not just your own creative expression, but also the creative expression of others. This can easily rub off on the children in your life in a very negative way. Virgo ♍︎ is a mutable sign, meaning it is adaptable and when the energy is channeled positively, it can be a reminder of how beautiful it is that there is no “right way” to be creative. Aries ♈︎ Rising

Alright Aries ♈︎ Risings, I have some news for you that you might not like to hear but this New Moon will be transiting through your Sixth House of Work, Physical Health, and Routine. When the New Moon transits through this house, it is an indicator that it might be time to get your shit together. The Sixth House is all about how we “work” so if there are issues concerning your health you have not addressed or tasks you’ve been putting off, this New moon might be bring them to your immediate attention to resolve.

When Virgo ♍︎ rules the Sixth House, those native may have tendencies of wanting to be perfect in everything you do, but remember you do not have to be and no one is an expert at first (and as a Capricorn ♑︎, I know how hard that it can be to deal with that feeling). The New Moon is about organizing but also about starting fresh.

This can look like doing a deep clean of the bathroom because you’ve been really busy lately. This is also a good time to make a plan to break some bad habits or start new ones. Setting up an appointment with a nutritionist to work on your relationship with food. Don’t dive right into the deep end though! The first step to this could look like thinking about what your support system looks like or what you would like it to look like. Change does not have to be done alone and it is important to surround yourself in community that makes you feel safe and secure.

Pisces ♓︎ Rising

For Pisces ♓︎ Risings, this New Moon in Virgo ♍︎ will be hitting your Seventh House of Long-Term Relationships. The Seventh House covers relationships of all kinds–romantic, platonic, and business. Any relationship that you’re in for the long haul for that isn’t familial is covered in by the Seventh House.

When the New Moon transits through this house, it can be an indication that you should start or revisit any boundaries in the long-term relationships you have. This could look like going exclusive or setting the boundaries needed to open a relationship. When Virgo ♍︎ is in this house, this cam be an indicator of arrogant tendencies when it comes to the expectations of a relationship. This is due to Virgo’s drive for being surrounded by people and things who always put their best foot forward. If this is the case for you, just remember that everyone has to start somewhere and it takes time to build a new skill.

With that said, Pisces ♓︎ Risings remember that you can’t save everyone. With Virgo ♍︎ ruling your Seventh House and your rising sign being the sign of ideals and aspirations, you may have a tendency of giving people too many chances because you’re able to adapt. Be very mindful of this, especially if your Venus placement is in your First house with your Rising or your Seventh House where this New Moon transit is occurring. This is a great time to reflect on where you can find a balance between having patience and respecting your personal boundaries.

Aquarius ♒︎ Rising

Aquarius ♒︎ Risings, if you have any issues related to intimacy that you’ve been avoiding, this New Moon might make you have to face them. This is because this New Moon in Virgo ♍︎ will be transiting through your Eighth House of Intimacy and Shared Possessions. The Eighth House covers how we approach intimacy and our expectation of how others express it.

When Virgo ♍︎ is in this house, it indicates a major lesson you may need to learn is that you cannot control how others act. Part of the intimacy that the Eighth House covers is the expectations we have of those that are closest to that. Because of this, Virgo’s need for perfection can be heightened in this house, even more so when the Moon transits through this here. The Moon brings to our attention our needs to feel safe and secure physically and emotionally, so the New Moon transiting in this house encourages us to reflect on what it is we need to feel most safe.

The Eighth House also where your shadow work lies and when the New Moon transitions through this house it can be an indicator that it’s time to start working through it or at least starting to figure out what it is you need to address. If you’re not sure where to start, see if you have any planets in this house—especially any personal planets—check what they represent, and think about how you feel about those aspects of your life. If you don’t have planets in that house, look to where your Saturn and Uranus placements are and reflect on what they represent for you based on the sign that they’re in. The Eighth House deals with matter of other people’s possessions and how you interact with them so if you’re not feeling activated about resolving matters of intimacy, this New Moon could be signally it’s time to reflect on your long-term goals that you have with others, specifically when it comes to any shared finances. This can look like starting a savings plan if your able to, working with your partner to outline a new business venture, thinking about what you expect out of a new roommate, or working on your resume so you can get your money up.

Capricorn ♑︎ Rising

Capricorn ♑︎ Rising, I’m so sorry if you’ve been feeling particularly burnt out recently. This might be because Saturn, your ruling planet, is currently retrograde and will remain retrograde until November 15th (you can learn more about that in the Virgo ♍︎ Forecast in Kernel Diaries here). I do have some good news though! The New Moon is transiting through your Ninth House of Philosophies, Traveling, and Expansion.

By the time this New Moon does this transit, Mercury will be direct. With your Ninth House being in Virgo ♍︎, this New Moon energy would be a great time to figure out healthy outlets for any restless energy you’ve been having. Start planning that vacation you’ve been thinking about! Spice up your routine a bit, maybe a morning walk now that the temperatures are cooling down (here in New York City at least lol).

With Virgo ♍︎ in this house, it’s an indicator that you can be very adaptable when it comes to change especially when it means you get to grow in some way. However, keep in mind that messing up is part of the process of growing and perfection is not the ultimate goal of growth.

The Ninth House is about expansion and the New Moon transiting through there can also be a sign to start something new or deepen an experience. Expansion for the Ninth House can also be interpreted on a spiritual level. No matter what you believe in, this New Moon energy is a great opportunity the reflect on ways you might want to deepen your spiritual beliefs and what that means to you.

Sagittarius ♐︎ Rising

Sagittarius ♐︎ Risings, you will most likely feel the effects of this Virgo ♍︎ New Moon in your public and work like. This is because the New Moon will be transiting through your Tenth House of Social Status and Career. The Tenth House rules over the “public” self, not to be confused with the rising sign/First House that rules our first impressions. Your public self can refer to how you show up at work or how you appear to others on social media.

When Virgo ♍︎ rules this house, it can be an indicator that you are very meticulous in curating how you’re viewed in public and/or work. Those with Virgo ♍︎ Tenth House’s also give off an air of being “experts” or the “perfect example” in the industry you work. If that’s not you, the New Moon transiting through this house is trying to signal to you that you have that potential. When the New moon passes through this House, it can be an indication to reflect on how you show up in your professional/public life. The biggest question is does what you want your public self to be reflect what it is? If not, think about why and try to make adjustments accordingly.

If you’re prominent on social media, the New Moon transiting through this house could be an indicator that now is a great time to reflect on what you choose to share with your audience and boundaries you’ve created with them. New Moon energy is also really good for planning, so this would be a great day to start planning your next campaign launch!

On this day, the Moon will be conjunct the Sun in, indicating harmony between the energy of the ego and emotions. What this can look like is you may encounter a lot of personal feelings coming from your coworkers on this day. Try to be sensitive to this, however, don’t jeopardize your boundaries either. Scorpio ♏︎ Rising

Scorpio ♏︎ Risings, this New Moon wants you to get involved with your community. This is indicated when the New Moon is transiting through the Eleventh House. The Eleventh House is the House of Community, revealing how we show up in, interact with, and expect of our communities. When Virgo ♍︎ rules this house, a shortcoming for some natives is over analyzing these aspects of community. Be aware of your judgement of others in your community and determine if they are every worth making a fuss about.

When the New Moon transits through this house, it can be an indicator to reflect on how you show up in your community. If you’ve been doing a lot of work in that realm of your life, get ahead of the burn out and start planning what you need to do to self-rejuvenate. Remember, you need rest in order to show up as your best self.

The final New Moon horoscope. Thank you Libra ♎︎ Risings for being so patient! This New Moon in Virgo ♍︎ will be transiting through your Twelfth House of Service and Sacrifice. When Virgo ♍︎ is in this house, it can indicate that you’re used to analyzing things that others might find taboo and can act as a great guide to those through such subjects.

However, with Virgo ♍︎ in this House, it can also indicate struggles of accepting what you cannot control. Because of this, this New Moon transit could be a great time to reflect on and start figuring out how you can accept area the areas of your life that are simply out of your hands.

With the Twelfth House be in the last house that proceeds the ascendant, it is also associated with childbirth. With that in mind, if you’re pregnant now is a good time to start working on your birth plan if you haven’t yet. If you’re not looking to be a parent, start working on your uterine eviction plan. Even if you’re not pregnant, now is still a great time to think of your childcare plans and what they look like. Even if you’re not looking to have kids, shit happens and it’s good to think about what you intend to do when it does.
